TheDead Risingseries is known for its unique weapon crafting and extremely fun combat. What other games would allow you to take a selfie with a zombie right before killing it? While Dead Rising 3 and 4 were met with questionable reviews, the first two installments are fan favorites.

Being able to take down zombies, and other enemies, in a zombie outbreak with virtually anything at your disposal is what makes Dead Rising so entertaining. The two playable characters ofChuck Greeneand Frank West channel their inner MacGyver to combine weapons to create some of Dead Rising 2’s best weapons.
12Spiked Bat
Kicking off the list is the Spiked Bat. Not only is this a very common weapon to craft in the game, but it is also the very first combo weapon you unlock. In the storyline, it is also guaranteed that the first maintenance room will have this item to craft.
What makes the Spiked Bat fun is that it’s an iconic weapon withinthe zombie genre. The bat and box of nails used to craft it are also very common around the map. It has the ability to one-shot normal zombies and is good to clear a group of them.
11I.E.D.
Explosives in Dead Rising are an easy way to clear a group of undead. The I.E.D. is not only a great weapon for that, but it can also be used as a melee weapon. In order to craft this item, you need a box of nails and a propane tank.
The former is very common, and the latter can be found in different areas of the map. The downside of this weapon is that, to detonate it, you must shoot it with a firearm. In Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, you can combine a propane tank with rocket fireworks to create a Bouncing Betty, which doesn’t need a firearm to detonate.
10Battleaxe
Out of the various range of weapons, the Battleaxe is one of the most uncommon weapons in the game. There are four locations where it can spawn, but you are guaranteed to find two in Ned’s Knicknackery shop in the Palisades Mall.
This two-handed combat weapon is great for swinging around and taking out zombies. It only has 40 uses normally, but you can upgrade both its durability and power. All you need is the Blades and Sports magazines to enhance the weapon.
9Chainsaw
The Chainsaw has to be one of the best weapons for both solo use and creating combo weapons. The weapon on its own is good for swinging around and slashing zombies. Just holding it while the engine is running can damage zombies when they walk up to it.

The downside to this piece of gear is that it is a two-handed heavy weapon. This means that you’re able to’t store it in your inventory and when you drop it, it damages you. The chainsaw can also be found in many areas around the map.
8Katana Sword
There are two different Katana in Dead Rising 2. There is the regular Katana, which can be used to make the Reaper weapon, and then there is the Katana Sword from the main storyline. While both are impressive, the Katana Sword might be better in terms of spawn rate.
The Katana Sword can only be obtained after defeating the Bailey Twins in the 4-1 Case. However, what gives it its great respawn rate is the fact that you’re able to always get one after exiting and entering the Yucatan Casino.
7Boomstick
Firearms in Dead Rising are good to use, but why use them when you have a plethora of other weapons? There are many combo weapons that weapons can be used for and one of the most fun has to be the Boomstick.
Combining a pitchfork with a shotgun creates the Boomstick. This gun would make Ash from The Evil Dead proud. Being able to stick a zombie with the pitchfork and then blast them away with the shotgun makes for some incredibly fun and gruesome combat.
6Knife Gloves
If you are looking to unlock your innerWolverineand go on a rampage then the Knife Gloves might be your favorite weapon. The Knife Gloves are not only easy to obtain but are some of the best close-combat weapons in the game.

Created by combining the bowie knife and boxing gloves, these special gloves have a durability of 60 uses and chop down zombies in a sharp fashion. In Off the Record, you may use a chef knife or meat cleaver to craft them as well, which makes them even easier to obtain.
5Paddlesaw
The Paddlesaw has to be one of the most iconic weapons since it is on the cover of Dead Rising 2. It’s created by combining a paddle and a chainsaw. This is a great two-handed heavy weapon that also has very high durability and attack damage.
you may find the materials to make this around many places but for a guaranteed spawn, check the maintenance room across Hot Excitorama. The only downside to this weapon is it too big to fit into your inventory.
4Rocket Launcher
If you really wantsome explosive gameplaythen try crafting a Rocket Launcher. This weapon can not only fire rockets without an engine but does some great damage to zombies when the rockets explode. This is created by combining rocket fireworks and a lead pipe. While the rocket fireworks are easy to come by in the Silver Strip, Casino, Plaza, and Underground, the lead pipe can only be found in the South and Royal Flush Plaza.
The Rocket Launcher is great for clearing out an entire area of zombies with a fast fire rate. Just don’t shoot it at point-blank range as the fireworks will bounce off the zombies and can damage you, making you drop the weapon.
3Laser Sword
Any chance you have to play with a lightsaber in any game that isn’t Star Wars is incredibly fun especially when killing zombies. This weapon is created by combining gems and a flashlight. The Laser Sword does have low durability but very high attack damage.

This weapon can slice zombies in half with one swing, has a wide range, and is good for clearing out enemies. It is a bit slow to swing. which can be a downside in a very large group of zombies, but is still fun to use. It even has four different colors: blue, purple, green, and red.
