There are plenty of powerful cards included in Lord Of The Rings: Tales Of Middle-earth. Some of them are generically strong and capable of doing a lot of things on their own. Others create powerful combos with other cards available to make for formidable decks in the metagames across the multiple formats it is legal in.
9Westfold Rider
Westfold Rider is similar to another card with the same casting cost and power/toughness in Cathar Commando. The difference between those cards is that while Cathar Commando has flash, Westfold Rider doesn’t need to spend mana to destroy an artifact or enchantment whereas Cathar Commando does.
The two cards are a bit interchangeable now, allowing for more versatility in Humans that can take care of artifacts or enchantments.Humans are one of the best typeswith a ton of support, and Westfold Rider is yet another tool in its arsenal.
8Samwise The Stouthearted
Afantastic way to recover from removal, Samwise The Stouthearted allows you to bring a permanent back to your hand from your graveyard so that you’re able to reuse it. This helps to recover from battle trades as well by suddenly bringing in a creature to replace it when Samwise enters and gets the destroyed creature back.
Samwise The Stouthearted also causes the Ring to tempt you, which is nothing but an upside. If you’re further along the temptation track, this gives you only more advantage. Samwise The Stouthearted only costs two mana and has flash, allowing it to be cast easily at any point in the game.
7Faramir, Field Commander
Faramir, Field Commander is a way to have a source of card draw so long as a creature died that turn. It also creates tokens when the Ring tempts you, something that is rather easily accomplished.

White is a color that usually struggles with card draw, so a way to easily obtain it in Faramir, Field Commander is very appreciated. It has decent stats and a fantastic typing as well to allow Faramir, Field Commander to slot into Human decks to help them flood the battlefield even more and keep their hands refreshed.
6Gandalf, White Rider
Gandalf, White Rider is amazing in decks that are casting a ton of spells. If you’re playing with colors with access to a lot of low-mana spells, this card can make all your creatures gain significant power.
Gandalf, White Rider wants you to be playing a lot of creatures so you can be doing giant bursts of damage. If you mix itwith creatures that have haste, these threats can become immediate. The scrying effect is a nice added bonus that makes sure that you will always be drawing more spells that you’ll be able to cast.
5Saradoc, Master Of Buckland
A very good card for lower-power decks, Saradoc, Master Of Buckland is fantastic. It makes it so all your creatures come withan extra token along with them. The stat boost can be relevant as well, especially in a format like Commander where it can win with commander damage off of one attack.
Saradoc, Master Of Buckland leads to a large battlefield of creatures. When you mix in other stat-boosting effects, your creatures can become a massive threat. Saradoc can give itself lifelink with its effect as well, allowing you to stay in the game with big swings of damage.
4Gandalf The White
Gandalf The White is a solid support card for legendary and artifact spells. Itallows you to cast them with flash, which lets you play them all at instant speed to be able to catch the opponent off guard much easier. Gandalf The White comes with flash as well, so you can play the whole game at instant speed.
It doubles up on all of their battlefield triggers, which can very quickly get out of hand. This is especially true if they have both an enter and leave the battlefield effect as they both go off twice.
3Frodo, Determined Hero
Many of the best Equipments have either a mana value of two or three, which makes Frodo, Determined Hero so good. The cycle of Sword Of X and X all have a mana value of three and are frequently played, which can automatically attach to Frodo, Determined Hero.

As an added bonus Frodo, Determined Hero prevents all damage being dealt to him on your turn, which makes him a strong target for Equipment. It is very easy to load Frodo up with Equipment to make it a giant threat very quickly with the powerful boosts and protection the Equipment grants.
2Rosie Cotton Of South Lane
Rosie Cotton Of South Lane is a card that has plenty of possible combos. Whenever a token is made, a +1/+1 counter gets to go on any character. The most notable target for this is Scurry Oak,which makes infinite tokenswhile giving Scurry Oak an infinite amount of +1/+1 counters.
This card notably costs only three mana. This makes it not only easy to cast but also able to be brought out off of a Collected Company (which can also put Scurry Oak on the battlefield with it to instantly make the combo).
1Boromir, Warden Of The Tower
There are plenty of spells that are being cast for free like Force Of Vigor and Force Of Negation that Boromir, Warden Of The Tower will counter unless the actual mana cost was paid — which is very rare to happen.
This effect is solid on its own, but Boromir, Warden Of The Tower can also make all your creatures indestructible by sacrificing himself. Boromir has solid stats and vigilance as well to make it a formidable threat. Human decks often flood the battlefield and Boromir can save them from board wipes — one of their main weaknesses.
