While browsingXbox Game Pass, you will find many RPGs, FPS titles, and action-adventure experiences. Finding good fighting games is a bit trickier, as there aren’t as many of them on the subscription service.

But that doesn’t mean fans of the genre have to give up all hope because there are some fighters on the service. In fact, there are some really good ones. They don’t have their own category, so it can be hard to find them in the large collection of titles on the service. To make things easier, here are all the best ones that you should look for.

7UFC 4

During a discussion around fighting games, people often overlook titles likeUFC 4. This is because it’s a licensed sports game, which makes it very different from the likes of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter. However, the main requirement of a fighting game is that it contains people fighting, and that is certainly what occurs in UFC 4.

To be more specific, it’s famous MMA fighters punching, kicking, and wrestling each other in several timed rounds hoping to KO or submit their opposition. In career mode, you create your own combatant and attempt to make them the greatest of all time.

6BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Special Edition

Arc Systems Works create some ofthe best anime fighting games ever, and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is among their best work. It’s a 2D fighting game that puts significant focus on tag team battles. In these skirmishes, one member of each team is in at a time, but you may swap them out regularly.

You have plenty of options for teams since this title includes characters from Persona 4 Arena, Arcana Heart 3: Love Max Six Stars, RWBY, and more. So, the likes of BlazBlue’s Ragna can battle or team up with the likes of Ruby from RWBY. And several of these series feature in the multi-dimensional main story.

5Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition

Killer Instinct was originally a launch game for the Xbox One. But it was also a live service title, meaning the developers continually updated it post-release. Game Pass now offers you the definitive edition of the game, containing the characters that were added after the initial launch.

This is great because a lack of content was the one criticism the game received when it was initially released. Yet, in this version, there are plenty of characters to play as and venues to fight on. Speaking of fighting, the game provides fast and fluid 2D battles where unleashing strong combos is the key to victory.

4Fight Night Champion

Fight Night Champion is among the oldest fighting games on Xbox Game Pass since it came out in 2011. However, it remains one ofthe greatest boxing games. It’s a simulation of the brutal sport, and it succeeds in bringing that brutality to video games. During a fight, fighters get visibly damaged, from swollen eyes to blood-covered bodies.

As the game is from 2011, it contains all the most famous boxers from that time, such as Ricky Hatton and David Haye. They’re joined by several legends, including perhaps the two greatest ever, Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali. So, it’s a simulation game that allows you to stage fantasy fights.

What’s more, there is substance to go with this impressive style. The game boasts a fluid 2D fighting system that is accessible to both Guilty Gear veterans and newcomers to the series. The story is, admittedly, less accessible to series newbies, but it certainly isn’t the main aspect of the game, so you can avoid it and still have fun with the title.

2Mortal Kombat 11

Mortal Kombat 11continues the series tradition of being an extremely violent and excellent fighting game. It contains most of the main characters you expect to see in an MK game, from Johnny Cage to Sub-Zero. All of them feature in an excellent main story that ranks amongthe greatest in fighting game history.

The tale contains the usual Earthrealm (good) vs. Outworld (evil) conflict with the added twist of some time travel, which brings young versions of classic characters back into the fold. The fighting is built from the standard Mortal Kombat formula, featuring fast-paced battles with brutalities and fatalities. Therefore, it doesn’t bring much new to the table, but it remains good enough to keep you invested for hours.

1Injustice 2

There have been some wonderful games based on comic books over the years. Yet, theInjusticegames have managed to turn things on its head by being games that spawned a comic series. The reason for this is that the stories in these games are so incredible.

InInjustice 2, Brainiac attempts to take over the Earth. Batman and what remains of his allies attempt to stop him. The warped version of Superman, however, is locked in a cell due to his heinous crimes in the previous title. Will he be needed to save the day? As you’re able to tell by the story premise, this game contains many of DC’s main heroes and villains. They compete in enjoyable fights, using both their strikes and individual powers. It’s all very enjoyable.
