In terms of items to discover, whether it be from chests, NPCs, enemies, or otherwise,Elden Ringcan feel as daunting and expansive as the galaxies and planets in No Man’s Sky. Okay, maybe that’s not a perfect comparison, but you have to admit, having hundreds of weapons, armor pieces, and other item categories to find is pretty impressive.
If you have the MMO mindset from games like Runescape or World of Warcraft, though, you must be wondering: out of all these items, which have the lowest drop rates? It’s a valid question, and thankfully there are smart folks out there who have done the calculations.

10Bandit’s Curved Sword
TheBandit’s Curved Swordis one ofthe best Curved Swords in Elden Ring, boastingpowerful Poise damage in PVP, as of the 1.13 Patch.However, as with all things that are worth having, you will need to put in the time and effort to claim this rare weapon.
Combine all farming with theSilver-Pickled Fowl Foot,Silver Scarab, and any Arcane-increasing equipment, as this also affects your Discovery.
You can defeat Giant Beast Skeleton enemies to get this weapon, which hasa drop rate of 1.5 percent– not the worst, all things considered. Alternatively, you can head to the Church of Pilgrimage to farm the Skeleton that spawns in the graveyard outside at the same drop rate; the choice is yours.
9Inverted Hawk Towershield
Despite its name, theInverted Hawk Towershieldis classified as a Greatshield. It scales best with Strength and is dropped by Fallen Hawks Soldiers at adrop rate of one percent. These enemies can be found pretty close to the Nokron, Eternal City Site of Grace.
If you’re trying tospeed up the process,ignore Fallen Hawk Soldiers that appear to be wielding weapons before engaging them; enemies that have no apparent weapons will pull out and have a chance to dropthis incredible shieldyou’re looking for when alerted.
8Magma Blade
TheMagma Bladeis a Curved Sword that benefits most fromStrength and Faith stats. At adrop rate of one percent, it can only be obtained by slaying Man-Serpents in the Volcano Manor area and is one of the rarest items in Elden Ring.
They’re pretty easy to spot, given the large, glowing, orange sword they wield. If you’re having trouble finding them, head over to the Temple of Eiglay Site of Grace. Heading north from there, you should find a wooden elevator. Take that up, and you should be able to find a couple if you poke around a bit.
7Rune Arcs
WhileRune Arccan certainly be found in chests or bought, whether those mechanisms of acquisition existed or not, it wouldn’t change the fact that they have adrop rate between 0.50 and one percent. Your best bet for farming them is to go up against rats, giant or otherwise.
You can find rats pretty much anywhere, whether it be Stormveil Castle, the Siofra River, parts of the Altus Plateau, Leyndell, the snowy Mountaintops of the Giants, or the many caves, nooks, and crannies within the game.
6Dominula Celebrant Weaponry
You may be familiar with those happy and approachable, giggling women who sing and dance at the Windmill Village. It’s a different story when you attempt to join in on the fun, but these Celebrants drop three different kinds of weapons, all at a0.50 percent drop rate.
It will depend on your luck, but if you spend enough time crashing their parties, you’ll be rewarded withCelebrant’s Sickle,Celebrant’s Cleaver, andCelebrant’s Rib-Rake. Who knew farming and food-related tools doubled as celebratory accessories?
5Wandering Noble Weaponry
It turns out those frail Wandering Nobles you find all over the map have a chance to drop two unique weapons: theNoble’s Estoc, and theNoble’s Slender Sword.
Both weapons have abase drop chance of 0.50 percent.
It’s most likely you’d go for these weapons if you’re a thorough completionist because regardless of whether you get the sword or the estoc, they’re not nearly as impressive as other weapons you could choose. Although if you farm the Nobles enough, you could start role-playing as one of them.
4Aristocrat Headband
The Wandering Nobles aren’t quite done yet, they have another incredibly rare drop, but this time it’s something you’re able to wear: the Aristocrat Headband. Even a simple headband in the Elden Ring universe can make you royalty.
This item also drops at arate of 0.50 percent. It won’t give you much in terms of physical protection, but you do get a bit ofresistance for magic damage types. Plus, you’ll have a bunch of red gems adorning your head which is a cool addition to being one of the rarest items in Elden Ring.
3Imp Heads
There are six different kinds of stone Imp Heads that you can find and shove your head into. There are only three variants, though, each with a0.50 percent chance of droppingfrom their corresponding Imps: theImp Head (Cat),Imp Head (Fanged), andImp Head (Long-Tongued).
Every Imp Head is unique, but if you’re having trouble recognizing which Imps to kill, try theCliffbottom Catacombs, Impaler’s Catacombs, and the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds.Whether you think they look silly or not, these improvised helmets do offer decent stats across the board.
2Octopus Head
This Eldritch horror of a helmet can only be dropped by Land Octopuses, at adrop rate of 0.50 percent. Don’t accidentally waste your time trying to farm the Giant Land Octopuses, though, as this helmet isn’t in their drop table.
Instead, you may head south of the Saintsbridge Site of Grace to find twelve of these wriggly creatures squirming in and around a small lake.
For a helmet you can get quite early in the game, the stats aren’t the worst on theOctopus Head, although the same can’t be said about its aesthetics.
1Black Dumpling
TheBlack Dumplingis a dark and thin hood stitched together with a strange material. It only drops from First Generation Albinaurics at adrop rate of 0.50 percent. Your best bet is to search around Leyndell, Volcano Manor, or the Mountaintops of the Giants.
If you head to the Subterranean Inquisition Chamber, you can farm the Albinauric there who wears a Black Dumpling helmet. Run to the Albinauric about 20 feet away, defeat it (and its friend on the stairs), thenreset their spawns by resting at the site of grace.
