The Golden Comb is admittedly one of the easier items to pick out from the dirt if it’s already poking up above surface, and that’s a great thing! It’s first available in Year Two, which is also the first time you’ll see the Dig Site expand if you’ve been mining last year.

Having something to target as the size of the Dig Site increases, and you begin finding all the treasures is a helpful tip to get the most of your limited time at the Dig Site each day.

By Year Three when you first begin finding Golden Fish at the Dig Site, you’ve more than likely got a handle on how to manage the continued expansion of the project. Once again in Year Three, you’ll arrive to your first day to find the site has grown quite a bit.

There are still quite a few updates to come for the Dig Site, but Year Three feels like you have a groove established. It’s also possible it’ll be the first time you’re offered a Blessed Tool in exchange for a golden relic, so find one you won’t miss too much and hand it over. It’s best to use a cheaper relic if you can!

The Golden Crown, much like the Golden Fork, is one of the easiest Dig Site finds to spot when you first arrive for digging duty each day. The golden spikes sticking from the dirt are relatively unmistakable, so there’s absolutely no shame in starting with that spot for the day.

By Year Four, the golden relics may have taken a back seat to finding the remaining tablets, but be sure you’re stopping to dig for gold anytime you see it at the Dig Site – those spikes always mean money.

3,000

The most expensive item you can find at the Dig Site is locked behind five years of game progression, but the Golden Bear sells for 3,000g a piece. It takes some patience to finally dig your way down to it, but once it’s in the rotation, you’ll continue to dig up Golden Bears until you’re no longer working at the Dig Site.

3,000g is absolutely nothing to sneeze at, even by Year Five. When you consider that crops usually sell for three-digit values, having something worth so much that’s accessible for free just for digging? We’ll never turn down a few thousand G!
