After seven years and a whole console generation, the next iteration ofStreet Fighterhas finally arrived.Street Fighter 6offers sweet graphics but also a massive story mode in World Tour. There are plenty of nods to other titles in the franchise, including the Final Fight games. Those beat-‘em-ups take place in the same universe as Street Fighter.

Since Metro City is the same main location in both World Tour and the first Final Fight, the numerous reemerging charactersshould be no surprise. Seeing the obscure returning characters with modern visuals is awesome, especially if you know them already.
10Andore Family
The hardest side mission in the game has to be The Fighty Mighty. You’ll face off against many tough opponents, but a lot of them are returning characters from previous titles.
If you’ve played Final Fight 1, you should be familiar with the Andore Family.
These baddies are fought aplenty and have many tougher variants. There’s Andore, Andore Jr., Father Andore, the Uncle, and the Grandpa.
All of them return on this side mission. It’s such a nice callback, and even Grandpa Andore, now named Patriarch Andore, still has his shades, just like the original concept art.
9Roxy
Another opponent from The Fighty Mighty mission is Roxy. She only appears after you’ve beaten World Tour, and with a stat level of 87, she’s incredibly tough. Roxy has an interesting history in the Street Fighter/Final Fight universe.
She and Poison were common enemies in the first Final Fight, but they were removed from the SNES port due to the element of beating up women. Poison would later become a playable character in the Street Fighter games, while Roxy has been restricted to cameos and references.
It’s cool to see her as an opponent here and with a new character model.
8Laura
One nice element of World Tour is the flashback art you get when you deepen your bond with the various masters. There are plenty who love the lore and characters of Street Fighter, and it’s great to see that delved into here.
In these various artworks, you may spot a sneaky returning character if you focus closely.
In one of Guile’s flashbacks involving his daughter, right above Amy, is Laura fromStreet Fighter 5. Laura was one of thestrongest characters in that game, with players like iDom often crushing their opponents.
It’s awesome to spot this small cameo, and hopefully, she can return playable later down the road.
7Maki
Another sneaky cameo in one of the flashback artworks is Maki. After bonding with Ryu for quite some time, you’ll get an artwork showing Ryu, Retsu, and Dan carrying a Japanese throne, and off to the far right, at the very edge, you’ll see Maki.

Looking similar to Mai Shiranui, this character actually made her debut in Final Fight 2 for the SNES. She also made a small playable appearance in the GBA and PSP versions of Street Fighter Alpha 3.
With how she’s off to the side, the artist wanted her to be a bit hidden, which makes it feel even better to recognize her.
6Scrap Heap
Returning to Street Fighter 6 is the classic vehicle-breaking minigame, and this time you’ll have to destroy a large hulking truck. This has been in many Street Fighter titles, but remember, World Tour takes place primarily in Metro City.
Final Fight 1 was actually the first game to use this car-breaking minigame before Street Fighter 2 made it iconic. In that way, it’s a fitting tribute to the originator of this iconic aspect of Street Fighter.
It is a missed opportunity, though, not to include the man screaming, “Oh! My car!” here.
5Kung Fu Target
Most of the minigames throughout Street Fighter 6 are from previous entries, but this one’s a little more obscure. In Kung Fu Target, you’ll break multiple boards held by two people on both sides, so it’s quite simple, and this makes sense due to the minigame’s origin.
It’s actually taken from the original Street Fighter title back in 1987. Considering SF1 characters like Retsu return, it’s fitting for Capcom to take more from the original game.
The stone block-breaking minigame from SF1 doesn’t come back, although that’s probably for the better.
4Ball Block Blitz
One of thebest minigames in Street Fighter 6has to be Ball Block Blitz. Balls are frantically thrown at you, and you must react and parry accordingly.
It’s tough but a lot of fun to master. This minigame is taken from the Parry The Ball bonus stage in Street Fighter 3.
That was likely the best bonus stage yet in the series, and it’s a shame it didn’t return to the franchise for so long. Thankfully, Street Fighter 6 brought it back, and just like the old bonus stage, it’s a total blast.
3Carlos Miyamoto
Carlos Miyamoto is one of thebest side characters in World Tourmode. His side mission has some tough fights and cool moments, but Carlos wasn’t created for this game, and he originally made his debut in Final Fight 2 alongside characters like Maki.

Since then, he’s largely been absent except for one character ending in Street Fighter 5. These Final Fight sequel characters returning is a sweet addition because most fans likely only played the first game.
For those hardcore fans, it feels like a real OMG moment to see these long-absent characters come back.
2Industrial Area
Later on, in Chapter 14 of World Tour mode, you’re tasked with getting a bunch of items to progress. Two of these items are located in an industrial area toward the far left side of Metro City.
You’ll essentially play a small level filled with plenty of enemies and stage hazards.
What’s mind-blowing is that this area is the same one from level four of Final Fight. The part with the flames rising from the ground is still there, and even the tram boss fight area remains.
It just takes you back to the past, and it’s an amazing moment that new players won’t know.
1Sheng Long
The biggest hoax in gaming has to be Sheng Long. While modern players may be unfamiliar with the hoax, it was infamous in the 90s and 2000s in the fighting game community.
Created by Electronic Gaming Monthly for their 1992 April Fools joke, Sheng Long was a supposed secret boss requiring out-of-this-world conditions to face.
WhileMortal Kombatquickly turned Ermac, another boss hoax, into a real character, Capcom hasn’t done so for Sheng Long. That is until now.
After beating the game, at night, on top of the SiRN building is the legendary figure. At level 90, he’s the third-hardest opponent in the game.
Unbelievable that after all this time, Capcom finally makes Sheng Long a reality.
