Final Fantasy 16is a vast journey across many lands all over the realm of Valisthea. The game will roughly take around 30 to 40 hours to finish and while that is quite a hefty amount, it is an experience that you’ll want to keep enjoying for as long as you can. With New Game Plus, you can enjoy a more difficult challenge, or if you consider yourself a completionist, the myriad of side quests and monsters to hunt down will keep you busy for hours on end.
10New Game Plus Final Fantasy Mode
After defeating the final boss and rolling credits on the game, you will not be left wondering if you should sell your copy to buy the next big game.Final Fantasy16 offers a hefty New Game Plus mode where you can revisit the entire story and every piece of content that it has to offer all over again.
In this game mode, you may now increase the difficulty by choosing Final Fantasy mode when selecting New Game Plus, offering you a brand new challenge with difficult enemies and a combat style that is more in line with what other games in the genre offer.
9Clear All The Chronolith Trials
As you wander about Valisthea, you will encounter various pillars glowing in a blue hue. These are known as Chronoliths. When entering the Chronolith, you can take part in various time-based challenges with different restrictions applied.
While not the most difficult content in the game by far, they are a breath of fresh air when getting sidetracked in the open plains. These challenges are also a great way to learn how to play an Eikon that you are not familiar with.
8Craft Ultima Weapon
So you’ve crafted Gotterdammerung? You’re running confidently through the realm, but what if there was a better weapon? An ultimate weapon.
Within the confines of the main game, the sword you can craft with the help of Blackthorn and his old buddy is the best weapon you can acquire. However, once you unlock New Game Plus, you will be able to upgrade your old weapons even further and eventually be able to craft the legendary Ultima Weapon using your maxed-out blades.
7Clear The Hunt Board
Unlocking once you unlock the new Hideaway, an adorable Moogle named Nektar will present itself upon you with plenty of information on the massive hunt board behind them.

There are 32 unique hunts in Final Fantasy 16, ranking in difficulty with C Class being a walk in the park and S Class requiring the most precise dodging that your hands can do. One of the first S Class hunts that you find can be tackled quite early in the game, making the fight a tough time for most players. Luckily, you can revisit the board before you decide to start a New Game Plus and you’ll be adequately leveled for the mighty Svarog.
6Finish All The Side Quests
If the Game Of Thrones-inspired story had a grip on you as it did on most people, then you might have glossed over some of the most excellent storytelling in the side quests. Standing by their moniker, these quests are optional content, but they do a great job of filling in the gaps in different characters’ stories and giving the realm of Valisthea a bit more color.
Some of the quests explore even minor characters like Martelle’s quest on creating new fruits in a controlled environment after the Blight had ravaged the lands, or you can even take a small journey to discover one of your best pal and companion Torgal’s best-kept secrets.
5Collect All The Orchestrion Rolls
Some of the best things in Final Fantasy games is their soundtrack, and 16 is no different. The music is melancholic when tragedy occurs and fast-paced when you’re beating up larger-than-life Eikons.
In the Hideaway, located within the Tub And Crown tavern, there is a jukebox-like armoire known as the Orchestrion. This machine, just like a regular jukebox, requires you to purchase and add different Orchestrion Rolls for you to play some funky tunes for the local bar patrons. These rolls can be purchased in shops all over the realm but can also befound in chests scattered across the land.
4Get The Perfect Shot
Like every other game that includes incredible graphics and scenery, Final Fantasy 16 comes packed in with its ownphoto mode. While it’s not as robust as other photo modes, likeDeath StrandingorGhost Of Tsushima, Final Fantasy 16’s amazing combat system can deliver some fantastic shots that will require little to no editing.

TheActive Lore Systemis a fantastic way to learn more about the world of Valisthea during cutscenes. With many unfamiliar names and terms, it’s sometimes difficult keeping up with the ongoings of the entire realm.
After you learn new information, the historian residing in the Hideaway, Harpocrates will compile everything in a database for your convenience. Terms you might have glanced over will be available to read in Harpocrates’ tomes and even new information related to them can be found. Any lover of Final Fantasy 16 will enjoy learning more about the world that they reside.
1Reach The Level Cap
After unlocking New Game Plus, if you select the difficult “Final Fantasy” mode, Clive’s level cap will increase from 50 to 100. This level cap will make you strong enough to take up some of the bigger enemies in the game.
There is no reward for reaching level 100, besides the satisfaction of Clive being able to run over some of the earlier enemies by simply mashing square. The game doesn’t offer any more difficult content than Final Fantasy mode, but retrying some of the harder S-Class hunts might be worth it to test your mettle.
