Out of all the challenges you can play inThe Sims 4, this one is sure to shine. Inspired by The Garden Legacy challenge,iovmegumicreated The Crystal Legacy challenge. Similar to the nature motif of the prior challenge, the latter assigns a crystal to each generation.

This challenge will cover nearly all aspects of Sims gameplay, from becoming a celebrity to reaching a whole different kind of star. In this guide, you will find a few tips and tricks on how to make it through each generation of the legacy challenge.

Challenge Overview
Each generation of this challenge comes withset traits, aspirations, and rulesfor the Sim. There’s at leastone rule that will require a pack in each generation,with some having abase game alternative.
All required and suggested packs will be noted at the start of each generation’s respective section.
You aren’t restricted to one lot or one world for all generations.You can move your Sims around as much as you want, soyoushould pick a world best suited for each generation’s rules.
In each generation, you mustuse arandom number generatorto determinehow many childrenyour Sim will have. You will also have tocomplete therequired aspirationinnearly every generation. There is a loose storyline, as the actions of one generation will have some effect on the following generation.

To start a challenge all about family, this generation is focused on setting a solid foundation. You have to reachlevel ten of the Parenting skill,which will rise quickly as you care forfour children.
To truly complete this perfect family, you mustmarry your soulmateand stay together until death.
One of your four children must be adopted.
As you care for the home, you must reachlevel ten of the Cooking skill,and at leastlevel five of the Gourmet Cooking skill. Try to have your heir bethe only Sim cooking for the householdto max out these skills faster.
All of that while working on your career, having a choice between reachinglevel ten of the Painter career,or hittinglevel ten of the Painting skillwhile earning Simoleons by freelancing. It’s likely easiest tosend your Sim off to work, where they can work on the skill while out of the home.
If you have the Eco Lifestyle expansion pack, this generation is all about creation. You’ll have toreach level ten of the Fabrication skillas youclimb to the top of theCivil Design career,following theGreen Technician branch.
You’ll have tofurnish your home with the items you make, which is much easier to do with the fabricator as you’ll have a bigger selection.
If you’re playingwithout that pack, you cancomplete a crystal collectionandmake your Simoleonsselling your creations–handmade furniture, produce, etc. Focus mainly ongardening(which you have toreach level five in) and the woodworking bench.
This generation focuses on skill building–level ten in Logic and Fitness,andlevel five in Rocket Science and Parenting.
The highlight of this generation, though focuses on the Rocket Science skill. You will have tobuild a rocket,as well asfully upgrade the rocket.You will then use it totravel to the alien planet Sixam.
You get a rocket when youreach level ten of the Astronaut career(another requirement of this generation).
Hopefully, that’s where you’ll meet your future spouse as you also have tomarry an alienwho you willhavefour-five kidswith. If you want to experiment with some Sim-biology,have this heir be a male who marries a female alien, as there’sa chance both will become pregnant at once.
As this Sim grew up feeling a bit different from everyone else due to their out-of-this-world family, they want to connect a little more with those around them.
As theythrow at least five parties over the course of their life, they’ll need to reachlevel ten in Charismaandlevel seven in ComedyorMischief.As you’ll (hopefully) be interacting with a lot of Sims at these parties, these skills can rise pretty fast.
As for a career, if you have City Living they canjoin theSocial Media careerandreach level ten following the Internet Personality branch.Or, as a Base Game friendly option,level ten of the Entertainer career in the Comedy branch.
For the other rules of this generation, the Entertainer career lines up the best with the skills you’ll need to build.
This Sim is a quadruple threat!Level ten in Acting and Piano,andlevel five in Violin and Guitar!No wonder they’re afive-star celebrity.What can’t they do? Stay tied down, of course, as they will need tohavetwo failed marriages,withonlyone childresulting from either one.
At least they will have someone to make their life a little easier, as you willhave a butlerto take care of things around the house. Try to spend most of your timeraising the skills in public,asputting on performances will also raise your celebrity level.

Thefamily butler from the previous generation is this Sim’s best friend, and the inspiration to start a farm. As you build up the farm, you’llreach level ten of Gardeningeasily, while alsocompleting the Base Game plant collection. If you have Seasons, you can swap that last rule out forreaching level ten of the gardening career.
The plant collection is not separated by pack, so if you’re playing with anything other than Base Game you will have tokeep track yourself.
An emotionally challenging aspect of this generation is that of thethree childrenyour Sim will have,one child will need to diefor the next generation.
If you don’t want to orchestrate the whole thing yourself, useMC Command Centerto turn a Sim into a ghost with one simple click.
This Sim was greatly affected by the death of their sibling, which causes them to join–andcomplete–the writing careerand writing skillin order towrite the Book of Life,which can be used to resurrect deceased Sims.
Your Sim will thenuse the book to bring back their sibling, so they can live the life they always deserved.
The trick with the aspect is thatfor the Book of Life to work, it has to be bound to a Sim that is alive. you’re able to tweak the storyline a little and have the sibling die after the book is written. Or, you could have a pre-set Book of Life saved to use later on to better align with the intended story.
Bitter and jaded from seeing how unfair the world is to some people, this Sim turns to a life of crime. At least they’re good at it, as they mustreach level ten of the Criminal career in the Oracle Branch.They’ll also need to belevel ten in mischief,which is tied in with the career.
Afterrolling for the number of childrento have and having them, your Sim mustcheat on their spouseand thendivorce them. For the storyline’s sake, make this scandal as messy as possible. But, be prepared for a lot of Sims to not like you afterward.
For added drama, your Sim will laterget engagedbutleave their new spouse at the altar.This sequence of events can be accomplishedusing the wedding eventfeatured in My Wedding Stories if youcancel all interactions before exchanging vows.
After all the drama with the last generation, you deserve to relax. The skills for this Sim are all calming activities:level ten in painting, andwellness(Spa Day)orviolin. As well aslevel five in knitting.Your Sim cannever have a job,so they’ll have more than enough time to work on their skills.
Or, maybe not. You will also have tofill the household with children,meaning your Sim will have six kids to care for. At that point,a live-in butler to help with childcare is a necessity. But, once they reach childhood, you’ll have your weekdays free while they’re in school.
As a break from it all, you’ll need tosend your Sim to the spa once a week. They’ll really need it.
This generation is about standing out from the crowd and shining as an individual, setting off to university to find yourself!
For the rules, it’s best to apply toFoxbury Instituteandtry to unlock thePhysicsdegree path. To do this, make sure your Sim maintains an A average in high school and some medium to high skill level in things likeLogic, Handiness, and Robotics.
Once theyget their university degree,they can slide into a higher level in a career. If theycomplete their Physics degree, they’ll be able toenter the Engineer career at level seven.
