In a market bloated with live service, co-op, and MMORPGs, it seems like nobody wants to play solo anymore. However, there are plenty of gamers who prefer the immersive and relaxing effect of exploring and experiencing a game on their own, andDiablo 4has responded to this part of the community to make it a viable option.
RELATED:Diablo 4: Which Class Should You Play?
Diablo started as a stand-alone game in the late 1990s with a lone hero battling the forces of Hell on their own. Today Diablo includes co-op, guilds, and other options for those that want to play with friends or make new ones. If you want to continue the tradition of going it alone, there are some steps you may take to make the journey easier.
8Prioritize Self-Healing Abilities
Diablo doesn’t have clearly defined roles for characters like other RPGs do. That means no class is designated as a tank or healer. Although some might have more healing or tanking abilities, everyone just plays DPS. So for those that are playing alone, that means utilizing all of the self-healing abilities that you can.
This mainly concerns the Skill Tree and how you make your choices as to what new abilities are the most useful, but it also means picking gear or accessories that help with your regenerative powers or hit point capacity.
7Stay Defensive
This refers to any abilities that help your character dodge, move more quickly, or absorb damage. It’s also something to keep in mind when it comes to equipment and your style of gameplay in general. The Dodge button help before a player has access to high-level skills, so make sure it’s in a convenient place on your keyboard or controller.

Some classes are easier to protect than others. Barbarians have access to more armor and weapons, but Sorcerers can use magical barriers to absorb and deal elemental damage. Make sure to make these a priority when they show up in the Skill Tree.
6Save That Gold
There’s a lot of gold to be found in Diablo, but that’s because it’s required for almost everything you need, from repairs to upgrades to gem cutting. Solo players need to collect and save as much as they can because they won’t have friends or a guild to help them out.
If you’re still at a lower level, it’s better to save gold than to spend it on gear or upgrades just yet. Wait until the endgame, when it’s time to play on Tier III, to spend that money.
5Farm Extra Resources, And Hoard Them
This is the first Diablo game to have a crafting option, except that characters aren’t the ones doing the work. You have to pay a vendor for their services when it comes to making potions or repairing gear, along with a few other things, so in addition to searching the wild for gold, you should also be picking berries and searching every hidden Traveler Cache.

You’ve got tonnes of space in those storage containers when it comes to resources, so use it. Take a moment to smash that rock for ore and gems, pick those berries, or slay those wild animals for leather.
4Get Used To Checkpoints
The good news is that anyone can resurrect anyone else in Diablo just by clicking on their ghost. The bad news is not every player is going to bother, and if you’re playing solo, who else is around?
Luckily, the resurrection checkpoints aren’t that far away in most cases, and there’s going to be durability damage either way. Even if you’re playing Adventure Mode, get used to running back from those checkpoints.
3Don’t Clutter Your Storage
Speaking of your bags and the stationary chest in every town that acts as a bank of sorts, these slots are limited and can get cluttered up fast given all the junk that you pick up in the wilderness, after an event, or clearing a dungeon. Don’t forget tovisit the town Blacksmith, not only for essential repairs but also to unload all that stuff so you can pick up even more.

Use the salvage option as much as possible, because the materials can be used for other projects. This is something only certain vendors can offer and that’s not always available.
2Visit The Potion Maker Frequently
If you have more support in the form of your fellow players, might be able to get awaywith ignoring the Potion Vendoruntil it’s time for the occasional health potion upgrade. It’s easy to forget that this NPC also crafts unique potions with a variety of uses, and they can be useful to a solo player.
There are options for every kind of elemental resistance and most of them also give you a slight boost when it comes to gaining experience. This vendor can also refine materials and salvage certain things, another handy service that’s easy to overlook.
1Do The Side Quests
If you don’t want to play with friends in the game, it pays to make nice with the locals byhelping them out with certain tasksand side-quests. Some of these are related to the main storyline, but most of them stand alone.
More money and experience are always great, and not only for solo players but there’s also renown and caches that are rewarded for helping out the distraught locals. In other games, renown is known as “reputation” and grinding this to a higher level means better rewards and perks later on.
