Updated July 30, 2025 at 20:54 BST:TimTheTatman’s skin is now being removed from Call of Duty. An Activision representativetold Axios reporter Stephen Totilo, “At Tim’s request, we have removed the […] operator bundle from the Modern Warfare II and the Warzone store.” Original story follows.
Call of Dutyrecently added two Twitch streamers to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in the form of operator bundles: Nickmercs and TimTheTatMan.The former was recently removed from saleafter he made homophobic comments on stream, saying that LGBTQ+ protesters under attack should “leave little children alone”.
TimTheTatMan, however, has come out in support of Nickmercs, and wants his operator removed too.

“[Nickmercs] has been my friend for years- we went in getting our CoD operators together,” TimTheTatMan tweeted. “It feels wrong for me to have mine and him no longer have his. In support of my friend, please remove the timthetatman bundle”.
Rather than holding his friend to account for harmful homophobic comments, which uphold a common right-wing talking point that queer people are groomers and paedophiles, villainising their entire existence, TimTheTatMan came out to support Nickmercs. This has only added fuel to the fire, as many in the comments are celebrating TimTheTatMan’s decision, with Kick co-owner Trainwreck saying, “fuck cancel culture. if the part of the internet that’s going after mercs were the ‘good guys’, they’d teach & be patient even if their teaching are being questioned.”
Others in the comments, commonly with paid-for blue checks, have started to call detractors “groomers”. But it’s not just TimTheTatMan, Trainwreck, and Nickmercs who are pushing a harmful narrative about LGBTQ+ people, excusing it as free speech being ‘cancelled’; Mara actor Alex Zedra (not to be confused with Mara’s voice actor, Carla Tassara) replied to an official Call of Duty tweet, “Found the ped0”.
Call of Duty was replying to CharlieIntel who said, “It appears Activision has removed the Nickmercs bundle from the Warzone and [Modern Warfare 2] store this evening.”
It said, “Due to recent events, we have removed the ‘NICKMERCS Operator’ bundle […] We are focused on celebrating PRIDE with our employees and our community.”
The mere mention of LGBTQ+ Pride was all that sparked Zedra to call them a paedophile. And all of this is happening in the midst of Pride month, fueling an already notoriously toxic fanbase with even more homophobic rhetoric. And while Call of Duty has removed Nickmercs from the storefront, there’s evidently a lack of accountability on the side of content creators and influencers.
