Who Is Van?
Van is thetraveling salesmanwho visits Forgotten Valley twice each season -on the third and eighth of every season. On those days, he sets up shop in town and isopen from 12-6PM.
During this window of time, you’re able to go see Van at his shopnext to the Inn and Cafe(where you’re also able to set up shop), you’re able to stop in to eitherbuy items you can’t get elsewhere, or evensell off your thingsthat you may not otherwise be able to offload.
You can alsogive Van giftstoimpact your friendshipwith him - he has a meter like all the other townsfolk, despite his sporadic appearances.
When yousell to Van, you’llget your money immediately, meaning you can offer it right back to him for some of his own stock.
Van brings items likeanimal care products, outfits, livestock, home designs, and more.
Van’s shop is the only place you’re able to get key items like thebrushfor your livestock, or yourfishing rodto make use of all the waterways in town.
It’s best tobuy these important items Year One, to begin animal care and fishing that much faster!
The shop is also one of the few places where you’re able tosell items you can’t sell in the Shipping Bin, like meals or dig site finds that you’re trying to offload.
While most of Van’s sales are outright, you can sometimeshaggle with Van on expensive itemsto get a lower price on your goods. This only goes forlarge purchases, but bydeclining the purchase a few times over, eventually, Vanmight offer a discount.
He won’talwaysbe feeling so generous - if it’s not working after a few times, you likely just can’t haggle that day.
Van’s stock list updates throughout the chapters, so be sure you’re visiting early and often to see what he’s got in store that year.
