Gamers are a different breed. We know it because not everyone is capable of absolutely demolishing a pack of Mountain Dew and multiple bags of Doritos before even getting halfway through a gaming session. As unhealthy as that is, there is something beautiful about it too, right? Maybe not.

There are more than a few characters who’d absolutely become elite gamers if they were in the real world and they’re pretty easy to pick out. Competitive, somewhat socially awkward, dry and sarcastic sense of humor, and a constant desire to be seen as cool. Well, if that isn’t us gamers in the most loving way possible, then I don’t know what is.

10Joker - Mass Effect

Joker kind of just screams pro gamer, doesn’t he? Knowing theMass Effectuniverse, there’s probably some fantastic little flight simulator game he sunk way too many hours into throughout his youth to solidify his dreams to become a pilot.

It might also explain why Joker ended up turning to EDI for companionship. I’d imagine he doesn’t get out much — we’ve all seen those dance moves. On the bright side, the guy is probably solid to have around for a night of Mario Kart, even if he’d probably win every round.

9Snow - Final Fantasy 13

Final Fantasy 13’s Snow is such a funny character because he seems like the kind of person who wouldn’t admit they play video games, and then goes on to only play the yearly sports titles that never really change all that much.

We get it, Snow, you’re cool. We can all seethe blonde anime hairwith the bandana, leather gloves, and flowy jacket. There’s nothing wrong with playing video games, in fact, most people think they’re pretty cool nowadays. Not getting that fact is such a classic Final Fantasy 13 Snow move.

8Handsome Jack - Borderlands 2

With just how odd of a personBorderlands’Handsome Jack is, it’s almost impossible to believe he wouldn’t be a massive video game fan. He quite literally has the most gamer-esque sense of humor of any video game character ever put on screen.

There’s a mission that sees him telling you to jump off the cliff, and it’s really just because he feels like it, and that’s without mentioning Butt-Stallion. As a gamer, I too share an affinity for dark and butt-based humor, so thanks Handsome Jack.

7Leon Kennedy - Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil’s Leon Kennedy would definitely be a gamer, but more so one of those gamers who never know how to play any game but is somehow excellent at them all. We all know someone like that, and we all know that describes both awkward and action-hero Leon perfectly.

He’d, “What the?” his way to victory again and again, and he wouldn’t even know what he was doing to win. The game might be as simple as Mario Party, but he’d definitely be that guy who sweeps all the bonus stars right from under everyone’s noses.

6Nathan Drake - Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

All I’m gonna say is thatUncharted’s Nathan Drake is one solid Crash Bandicoot player. Knowing that he’s able to hop his way to the end ofthat classic Crash levelis enough to tell me that we have one of the oldest pro gamers around on our hands.

He might only be able to play Crash Bandicoot and its sequels because it’s all he knows and change is scary, but it still counts. He’d probably bring all the dad energy possible to whatever he played, including actively moving his entire body as if it will help him avoid objects in the game.

5Geralt Of Rivia - The Witcher 3

If his skill in Gwent is any indication, Geralt is probably one wicked gamer. He might stick to the card-based tabletop genre of video games, but it’s possible he’d be willing to branch out into RPGs. That could create a weird world in which he loves playing his own video game.

Aside from that thought hurting my brain, I think we can also see Geralt playing a few rounds ofCall of Duty, going on a kill streak, and chuckling to himself in that gruff voice of his. Hopefully, that very thing ends up as a post-credit scene onceThe WitcherTV series is done.

With the way Link is solving puzzles left and right, it only makes sense that he’d be a gamer. He’s already used to the Shiekah Slate, and now he’s got a magic hand, so he’d have no issue solving puzzleson the Nintendo Switch.

It’s also possible that Link would be way too into hack-and-slash games, leading him to the Warrior series. Link absolutely screaming his usual line of callouts at a Nintendo Switch while he bashes some enemies is a hilarious visual I never thought I’d picture.

3Wario - Wario World

With some incredible quotes and all the gas in the world to back him up,Wariowould make the perfect gamer. He’d almost certainly be a competitive gamer of some kind because he needs lots of room to be loud and proud.

The issue is that he probably wouldn’t take defeat well, resulting in him either eating the entire computer, pulling a motorcycle out of his pocket and riding off into the sunset, or farting so hard the entire building he was in would have to be fumigated.

2Sephiroth - Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Someone who looks that anime obviously loves to play visual novel games. That’s not a diss on Sephiroth (unless you think it is), because we all know he enjoys reading when he can. I bet the big softywould probably love Doki Doki Literature Club.

Suddenly I’m craving a YouTube playthrough of the game from Sephiroth’s perspective because that sounds amazing. There are plenty of other visual novels for him to choose from, but something tells me he’d be going for the most twisted ones possible.

1Max Payne - Max Payne

If there’s one thing we know aboutMax Payne, it’s that he’s going to get revenge for his fallen comrades. If he decided to become a competitive gamer in the first-person shooter genre, Max Payne might be leaving every tournament as the winner.

How could he let himself lose if his entire team got bopped before his very eyes? It’s time for his mind to enter bullet time and mow down all of his enemies with the hottest drop shots the world has ever seen.
