Baldur’s Gate 3has an astonishing number of mechanics and features, which can be overwhelming for a beginner. Don’t fret, though. Stick with it, and you’ll be in for a real treat of RPG goodness. You may have noticed the ‘Wares’ feature and thought, what on earth is that?

Before you decide to carry on with your adventure, you should learn all about wares. Larian Studios has put a stupendous amount of effort into improving BG3’s ease of access and creating player-friendly mechanics. The Wares is one of these features that will cut your inventory management time in half.

What Are Wares?

When you add an item to your wares, you mark it as an item to be sold to a merchant.

There are hundreds of items to collect in Baldur’s Gate 3, so your inventory can quickly get cluttered with junk, but sending an item to your wares lets you keep on top of your inventory.

While you can filter through types of items in your inventory,you can’t filter for Wares, only within the trading screen.

How To Add To Wares

There aretwo waysyou can add items to your wares, andone additional way for PC-specific players.

You can either select an in-world item and choose the ‘Pick-up and Add to Wares’option or select the ‘Add to Wares’option on the desired object within your inventory.

Items that are added to your wares will have an hourglass-shapedgold coin iconon them.

If you’d like toremove an itemfrom your wares,repeat any of these methodson an item stored in your wares.

Dropping an itemon the floor orplacing it in a chestwillremoveit from your wares, and you’ll have to re-add it upon pick up.

If you are a PC player, you can alsoHold Shift and left-clickto add an item to wares within your inventory.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Managing Your Inventory

You should take the time to do some housekeeping in your inventory.Double-check the items in your wares; the last thing you want to do is sell an important item.

You’ll likely be controlling your character more than your companions, and your inventory can get filled up quickly if you don’t share the load.

You can view all your companion’s inventories byopening your party menuor selecting the ‘Party View’option (the Tab key on PC).

Here you can swiftlydrag and drop itemsbetween your companions. You can also select individual items and choose the option’send to_‘to send that item to a specific character in your party.

Even if you are knocked out in combat, you can still open your party inventory andtransfer items between characterswithout using actions or bonus actions.

This works even if you are moving items to or from adeceased party member.

You canstore items in the Traveler’s Chest in your campif your party inventory is overflowing by selecting an item and choosing the ‘Send to Camp’ option.

Just remember that if you’re playing inMultiplayer Mode, you won’t have access to your friends’ player chests or inventorieswhile they are playing with you.

If you own the world file, you can access your friends’ player inventories when they log off of the game, but while they are actively in your party, yourfriends’ charactersand anyNPCsthey control areinaccessibleto you.

The wares tab is not sharedby the party. Each character has its own respective ‘wares’ inventory, so selling your wares at a merchant will only sell the wares that are in yourcurrent character’s inventory.

Goldis likewisenot sharedbetween characters on the shop screen.

Gold, items, and waresthat you want to give a party member to sell must beadded manually.

If you want yourhigh Charisma bardto handle all the bartering, ensure you’vemoved all of your party members' waresto that characterbeforeentering the shop menu.
