How To Use Free Cam Mode
Although The Sims 4 offers several different camera modes to give you all kinds of unique vantage points, there’s none as versatile asFree Cam Mode.
In Free Cam Mode, you canuse the mouse and keyboardto findcloser and more varied angles.
By default, taking screenshotsdoes not include the game’s UI. If this is your preference, great!
If you’d like the UI included, though,you’re able to change thisin the game’sOptions menu, in the"Game Camera"sub-menu.
What Can You Use Free Camera Mode For?
The uses for Free Cam Mode in The Sims 4 are varied, depending on your play style!
If you’re into the gameplay aspect of The Sims, watching characters you’ve created, then you may want to use Free Cam Mode toget closerto your scenes before your Sims' biggest moments unfold.
And with freecontrol over the angle of the cameraby simplyclicking and dragging the mouse to change the camera, you canget new angles of the game, watching your Simsplay in any game speedas you watch from this new vantage point.
Additionally, if you’re a builder, Free Camera is a great way totour your homes and public lotsfrom a more direct perspective.
Where Do You Turn On Free Camera?
Getting yourself into Free Camera Mode is thankfully pretty simple. In themenu bar in the top-right cornerof the screen, thecamera iconcan be found just to theleft of the Notification Wallicon,third from the right.
This is where you accessallyour camera modes. To enter Free Cam Mode,click the second camera from the rightin this sub-menu, the onewith a hand icon overtop of it(to denote how you may click and drag).
As of theJuly 2023 base game update, you’re able to nowenter Free Cam Mode directly from Build/Buy mode, coinciding with a feature you’ll want Free Cam for -painting the ceiling.
This is done the same way as in Live Mode, byclicking the camera icon on the top-right menu barto access the camera setting
