The Sims 4has a unique approach to sickness and hospitals. Both of these are present in the game, but aren’t as easily accessible as you may expect. While Sims can become sick, they won’t require a trip to the hospital.

Also, while Sims getting odd debuffs due to sickness has always been a base game feature, the hospital itself is tied to the Get To Work Expansion. So, how do you get to the hospital?
Have The Get To Work Expansion
Thehospital building is tied to the interactive doctor career, and as such is only available for those who have theGet To Work expansioninstalled. If you are just playing thebase game, thenthe hospital is simply a rabbit holeand Sims will just disappear briefly if they need to attend.
For thosewith the expansion, the hospital is a buildingwhich pregnant Sims can choose to have their baby at. Sims in the doctor career can also attend.
The hospital lotisn’t accessiblethrough the regular manage worlds menu.
Be In Labor
The easiest way to get to the hospital is tohave your Sim give birth.When a Sim goes into labor those with the Get To Work pack will seea pop-up menuthat asks if you want to have the baby at home or at the hospital. Alternatively, you canclick the pregnant Simand choose go to hospital. you’re able to alsochoose another Sim to attend the hospital with you.
Once there, you will need toregister at the deskand will then be taken through to a room wherethe most bizarre c-section you’ve ever seenwill take place. Once your Sim gives birth,you’ll choose name before being able to go back to your home lot.
Enter The Doctor Career
The main purpose of the hospital lot is forSims entering the active doctor career.Sims wanting to become a doctor willwork at the hospital, and you canaccompany themif you wish.
When they start work you’ll get a pop-up screen and canchoose to send your Sim alone or accompany them.
Each day you will havea list of tasks to doin order to advance your career.The more you complete, the faster you’ll be promotedand the more you will earn.
How To Edit The Hospital Lot
The hospital lot isnot editable by default, but you can use cheats to make it your own.Simply follow these steps.
You’ll now be able toaccess build mode in the normal way.Just make sure that youinclude all the things your Sims will need for a day at work.There areno set requirements for this lot, since it isn’t designed to be edited so make sure to keep the following:
All these items areessential for admitting, diagnosing and curingpatients, and we recommend keepingtwo of each diagnosis machine- which will be present in the hospital when you start. You’ll also needat least six exam bedsand ahospital-specific reception desk.
It’s also helpful to have a waiting room, extra exam beds, dividers, and a break room with a sofa to nap on and a radio or tv to fullfil low needs.
In order to complete all the tasks given you’ll also need acoffee machine, the CorporateFridge Raider Revenue Generating Cooler(for snacks), atreadmill(regular) and abathroom with a sink.
