Those of us curious to explore inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomto find iconic places from Breath of the Wild were quick to find out just how different the Temple of Time looks nowadays. When you finally arrive, you’re given a quest – help return lost eyeballs to a Statue in The Depths, the source of the voice calling to you from the Temple.

You’ll need to venture around the Great Plateau for this one, both on and under, to complete “A Call From The Depths,” so here’s our guide on how to do it.

Updated on June 16, 2025:With the Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue kind of tricky to find until you know where he is, we wanted to come back and update our guide on the A Call From The Depths quest to provide a bit more information.

This guide contains spoilers for a section of Tears of the Kingdom.

How To Start “A Call From The Depths”

The nostalgic among us may have begun this quest without meaning to in their quest to venture toiconic locations from Breath of the Wild. If you head toward theTemple of Time Ruinson theGreat Plateau, you’ll stumble into A Call From The Depths.

When you first arrive, you’ll see alarge blockagein the wall of the Great Plateau, which you canbreakwith either hammers orBomb Flower. When you do,water begins to flowfrom it again.

Head into the opening you created in the wall, andspeak to the Statue just past the opening.It directs you a bit further ahead, up into the properRuins in theTemple of Time.

Here, you find thelarge Goddess Statuethat began your journey in the prequel, who now tells you they’velost their eyesin the area around the Great Plateau, and now cannot use themin The Depths.

You’ll be tasked then withfinding all four eyesand throwing them into thenearby chasmsto get them into The Depths. Then, once they’re down there, you’ll need tobring each eyeto theGreat Abandoned Central MineBargainer Statue.

The Statue itself can be a little tricky to find, in a complex this large and winding! To find the Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue in TOTK, start from theConstruct that gave you the Schema Stonenot far from the Forge.

Looktoward the main structure of the Great Abandoned Central Mine, and you’ll see a stairway leading down further under the building. This leads you to the Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue’s oversized cave dwelling.

All Eye Locations On The Surface For “A Call From The Depths”

In the table below, we have the locations ofeach eyeyou’ll need to find for the Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue during “A Call From The Depths.”

Players returning to Hyrule from the prequel will recognize these four locations aswhere the four Shrines on the Great Plateau were at the start of Breath of the Wild.

Skyview Tower:Popla Hills Skyview Tower

Great Plateau East Chasm

This eye is concealed within thebreakable wallsblocking a doorway to the chasm. Destroy the rocks with a melee weapon to find the eye in the rubble.

Almost directly North of the Eastern Abbey, Northeast of the Forest of Spirits

Skyview Tower:Hyrule Field Skyview Tower

Great Plateau North Chasm

The eye for this one is atthe bottom of the small pondnearby. Use Ultrahand to grab it from the water.

South of the River of the Dead, on the East side of Mount Hylia.

Great Plateau South Chasm

This eye isbeneath the piece of rubblethat looks to have fallen from the sky. Move it with Ultrahand to grab the eye from beneath it.

By the small pond between the River of the Dead and Mount Nabooru

Skyview Tower:Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower

Great Plateau West Chasm

This eye isfrozen in the ice blockright by the mouth of the chasm. Use fire of some kind (setting one, melee weapon, or arrow attachment) to melt the ice around the eye to access it.

Therearen’t too manyShrines to unlockin this area, so you’ll be doing a good amount of walkingand Paraglidingto access the eyes.

This quest is made easier if you’ve got Tulin’s ability to help you glide between Towers andchasms, so consider finishingTulin of Rito Villagefirst if you need an extra midair boost in your travels between eyes.

How To Bring Each Eye To The Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue

Once you’ve thrown each eye down the nearest chasm to get it into the Depths, it’s time to begin bringing them over to theGreat Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue. Unfortunately, the chasms only go straight downward, so you’ve got a bit of a journey ahead.

You’ll almost always find assortedZonai techlying aroundwhere the eyes fell, somake great use of itin your transport mission.

Best Method

Use the nearby sheets,Big Wheels, andSteering Sticksto craft a large vehicle, then drive the eye over to the Great Abandoned Central Mine

Affix the eye to one of the nearbyCarts, then ride the rails back to the Great Abandoned Central Mine

Use theWings,Fans, and Batteries at the top of this structure to make a plane, then use the guide rail on the platform to take off and steer toward the Great Abandoned Central Mine

You’ll have two rails to navigate for this one, requiring a Cart change midway through in Hylia Canyon Mine, and the second track leads you directly into the large room where the Bargainer Statue is

If you arrive below the chasm to find that the eye is not present, goback to the surfaceand check where you originally found the eye, as it may be back there again.

Finishing The Quest

When you’ve brought the final eye to the Great Abandoned Central Mine Bargainer Statue, it offers you the choice between a freeHeart ContainerorStamina Vessel, to be given to you immediately.

Speak to the Statue again before you leave, though, in order to fully andformally unlock itas a Bargainer Statue.

You’re able to buynew clothes from the Statuesthe more Statues you speak to, so be sure to chat with all of them as you find them!
