However, Kula can’t leave the Korok Forest by himself, which means he can’t go and see what they’re talking about. Still, he’d like to see a picture of it. As Link has a camera in his inventory, it’s up to you to find the whirly swirly thing and take a photo of it for Kula.
How To Start The Whirly Swirly Things Quest
Once you’ve purified Korok Forest of the Gloom, head to the Musanokir Shrine, found to the left of theMaster SwordPedestal and south of the Great Deku Tree.
Directly left from exiting the shrine, you’ll seea Korok named Kula. Speak with him to initiate the Whirly Swirly Things quest.
He’ll tell you that his Korok friends have seena “big swirly circle” in the water, and he’d like to see it too, but he can’t leave the forest.
You’ll need totake a photo of the whirly swirly thingand bring it back to Kula.
Where To Find The Whirly Swirly Thing
The “whirly swirly thing” that Kula wants to seeis a whirlpool. There are a few scattered across Hyrule, but the easiest one to find is inLake Hylia, which is directly south of Hyrule Field.
You can also find one inEast Reservoir Lakein Zora’s Domain if you’ve completed theSidon of the Zora main quest.
The whirlpool is onthe right-hand side of the lake. It’s large, so you won’t be able to miss it.
To take a picture of it, you’ll want toapproach from the Popla Foothills Skyview Towerand paraglide over to the hills to the right of the lake.
If you head there directly over the Bridge of Hylia, you’ll encounter a Fire Gleeok.
Unless you want tofight an incredibly hard boss right now, take the route from the Tower.
Bring out your camera andtake a photo of the whirlpool. There will bea red exclamation point (!)on the image to confirm that it’s registered for the quest.
Once you’ve taken your photo, head back to Kula in Korok Forest. Speak to him to show him the picture.
He’ll tell you that his friends have also seen thesewhirly circles in sand, and wants to see a photo of that too.
Where To Find The Big Swirly Sand Circle
There’s only one place in Hyrule with lots of sand — Gerudo Desert.
you’re able to find “swirly sand” (a quicksand sinkhole) in multiple places in the desert, but the easiest to locate is inthe center of the East Gerudo Ruins.
You’ll need to have completed theRiju of Gerudo Town main questto complete this part of the quest.
Otherwise, the desert will be obscured by the sand shroud, andyou won’t be able to see any sinkholes.
Head tothe Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and go south. The ruins are justnorthwest of the East Gerudo Chasm.
Walk towards the middle of the ruins, and you’ll notice the sand dunes start to descend. You’llsee the swirling sand ahead of you.
Just like before, take a picture and bring it back to Kulain Korok Forest.
After you show Kula the picture, he’ll give youfiveEndura Carrotand you’ll have completed the quest.
