You’ll most likely have to go through the Gacha System ofHonkai: Star Railif you want to get one of your favorite characters. Once you acquire the character, you’ll need a bunch of materials to ascend them through different phases and upgrade their Traces that increase the value of their abilities.

This process remains the same for Luocha, a five-star Imaginary character who follows the path of Abundance. He was already a part of the main story ever since the game launched, but he only became a playable character in the version 1.1 update. Here are all the materials you’ll need for him.

Luocha Ascension Materials

Every character can reach a maximum of level 80 in Honkai: Star Rail,though these levels get capped at different places based on your ascension. You’ll have to use certain materials and reach a certain Equilibrium level to ascend characters and increase their maximum level cap. You can reach the final ascension at Equilibrium level five.

You’ll have toreach Trailblaze level 60 and fight two enemiesin a domain to upgrade your Equilibrium level to five.

The materials mentioned above are the requirements for Luocha’s ascension itself.You’ll still need extra Credits and EXP materials to level him up.

Both these items can be acquired from Calyxes, events, quests, and the battle pass. You can also buy some of them with real money.

The Artifex mob drops can be acquired from floating enemies all over The Xianzhou Luofu while the Stagnant Shadow drops will need you to head over to the Backwater Pass area of Jarilo-VI.This material guide will give you more informationon how to defeat the Stagnant Shadow boss and acquire the materials.

Luocha Trace Materials

When you head over to Luocha’s Trace section, you’ll see a tree filled with different buffs that you can get for the character if you spend some materials. This area consists of five main Traces: Basic Attack, Skill, Ultimate, Talent, and Technique. Out of these, the first four can be upgraded up to a certain level.

TheBasic Attack can go up to level six while the Skill, Ultimate, and Talent can go up to ten. The materials required by these two groups are also different:

you’re able to get Tracks of Destiny by doingSimulated Universe weekly, Battle Pass, and the Embers Exchange shop.

The items mentioned above are the requirements for one Trace. If you want to upgrade all three Traces (Skill, Ultimate, and Talent) to the maximum level,you’ll need thrice the number of those materials. Moreover, you’ll need more materials to unlock the three Bonus Abilities once you reach the required ascensions.

You can also get some stat buffs by unlocking the nodes that are connected to these bonus abilities.Although, you’ll need a lot more Trace Materials to unlock them all. You can use the material guide mentioned above to find the locations of all these Traces Materials as well. Out of all of them, Credits and Calyx materials are the hardest to acquire.

You canonly get the Guardian’s Lament drop after you progress the main story of Jarilo-VIand defeat Cocolia toward the end. This will also unlock the Preservation Trailblazer.
