Reboots have become part of Mortal Kombat’s canon ever since the 2011 title - unofficially known as Mortal Kombat 9. However, unlike other reboots, MK’s reboots still maintain the continuity since the first game, whether the characters know it or not. After merging with the power of Raiden and defeating Kronika, Fire God Liu Kang is now in charge of the Mortal Kombat universe.

Launching onSeptember 19,Mortal Kombat 1will follow Liu Kang as he brings together Earthrealm’s finest warriors, who are younger versions of characters we’ve seen over the years. The game will launch with a Standard Edition, Premium Edition, and a Kollector’s Edition, each with its own physical and in-game bonuses. Here’s where you can preorder them before they sell out.
Mortal Kombat 1
Standard Edition
The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 includes only the base game in a normal plastic case of whichever platform you ordered it for. It doesn’t feature any bonus in-game or physical goodies, just the game itself. This is what you’ll want to get if you’re not interested in any additional material.

The Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 12 is for you if you don’t really care about collectibles or in-game bonuses. Alternatively, since this entry is being touted as a good place to get into the series, newer entrants may not want to spend money on memorabilia. It goes without saying that this is also the cheapest edition.
Premium Edition
The Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 is perfect for those of you who are fans of the series, but don’t want to spill a lot of cash on physical memorabilia. It includes a number of in-game items like bonus skins, Kameo characters, special access, and currency as well.

The Premium Edition of Mortal Kombat 1 is for you if you’re not keen on physical collectibles, but love having those in-game goodies. This edition offers a number of skins and DLC bonuses, along with early access to certain items as well. Plus, a pile of in-game currency so that you can unlock whatever you want without grinding.
Kollector’s Edition
The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition is the highest tier edition you can purchase. It comes with everything that the Premium Edition offers, plus a number of physical items that would be prized by any long-time fan of the series. The centrepiece of this edition is the 16.5-inch Fire God Liu Kang Statue.

Now if you really want to show off your love for the Mortal Kombat series, and of course, have a bit of cash to splash, the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition is the one you want to get. It includes everything that the Premium Edition offers, and adds a few physical and in-game items - most notably, a 16.5 inch statue of Fire God Liu Kang.
